What can I say. I was awestruck. Yes they left out the Scouring of the Shire...yes they left out the whole relationship between Eowyn and Farimir....Yes we missed Saruman....but it left me breathless all the same.
I cried when Sam carried frodo...I cried when Gollum fell...I cried when Gandalf and Frodo departed....
Heck I cried when the movie started knowing this was the end.......
I loved the special effects..the army of the dead was phenominal!
So many times watching all three movies...I thought to myself...that is exactly how I pictured it in my mind......
I will indeed read LOTR once again ...and many more times in my lifetime....
I could not get the thought out of my head when Aragorn kissed Arwen after he was pronounced King..."wow he looks great for being 88 1/3 years old.....
I know silly woman I am....smile

I couldn't agree with you more! I was bawling when the music started and "The Lord of the Rings" came up on the screen. I was not disappointed at all! One thing I must say about Viggo, I think he's more sexy when he's scruffy looking and grubby than when he's all cleaned up with a crown on his head! EDIT - I also cried at the part at the end when Aragorn walks up to the hobbits and they bow to him and he says "My friends! You bow to no one!" And EVERYONE bows to them... I had tears streaming down my face!

I was crying then too. That was prob the best line in the movie. I did not want it to end...I could have sat there and watched them carry on with their lives forever....

Oh! I also loved the part when Denethor is stuffing his face and orders Pippin to sing a song. Billy Boyd has such a great voice, I started crying then too. GOD!! I want to see it again already!

The movie was great espiscelly when Pippen was singing and the soldiers of Gondor must try to reclaim Osh Gilioth. I thought it was great how when he was singing the battle was going. I LOVED THE BATTLE OF THE PELLANOR FEILDS (pardon my mispronuctiation)

I know this probably will not happen, and I haven't seen some of the other big hit films this year, but I think Sean Astin deserves an Oscar nomination for supporting actor. He was fantastic in all three films, especially the last.

I saw it Friday and yesterday again. I loved this movie, it was better than TTT. It had lots of emotion forced into it and the soundtrack emphasised this even more. My faverouite parts were when the Gandalf sees the Dragonfly and the Eagle music kicks in. Then the Eagles arrive and brawl with the Nazgul. I also liked when the boulder fired from the catapult and killed many Orcs then one tries to run away, and the Orc leading the assualt shouts, "STAY WHERE YOU ARE!" Oh and the raid on Osgiliath was good. Ah, the whole film was!

What I would like to know is where was Bilbo during all this that he didn't know what had been going on with the Ring and all. I mean, they had that meeting there in FotR at Rivendale and then the elves had started leaving...did they just leave old Bilbo in the corner or something?
