"So, shall we leave?" he says to the group. "Fernelf, what do you think, shall we go to the Prancing Pony?" he asked. "I heard that it sells fine ales and is a great place to drink, talk, and just have fun" he stated. "Come now, shall we go?"

Niegol made his way through the crowded streets towards the Prancing Poney. The rumors made him uneasy. The descriptions he had heard of the creatures that had raided the inn, reminded him of the past. As he opened the door to the inn he was met by an abashed Barliman Butterbur. "Niegol my friend!! How I wish that you had come in brighter times. The foulest creatures raided my inn and destroyed one of my hobbit abodes, and business have never been worse. What is a simple inn keeper to do?" Old Barliman had a habbit of talking out of his wits, but he was as honorable as one can get. "Were they ringwraiths?" Niegol asked. "I've heard rumors of such creatures," Barliman said, "but I'm only a simple innkeeper. I don't know much of such things. All I realy know is that ranger, Strider as we call him, disapeard at the next morning, taking four hobbits with him, the same hobbits that had rented the ruined room."" "Calm your breath, old friend. The hobbits are safe as can be if they went with this Strider as you call him. " "I hope you're right" he replied. Niegol ordered a glass of Barlimans best red vine, and sat at a table. He wondered if his fears would be proved true before long, and if so, the times truly had grown dark.

Fernelf looks to all in her group. "I must go to the prancing pony to see what I may find out about these dark riders. We may also overhear any rumors as to why there are orcs in this area" Turning to Terbil Fernelf continues," We may not like the answers we seek, but still I must do this" whistling for Alaterial to follow....Fernelf begins to walk down the dust filled street towards the Inn hoping her companions follow for surley she does not wish to take on this risk alone....

Anarandil and Terbil followed Fernelf down the street. Chewing a piece of fresh bread from the bakery, Terbil offers some to Anarandil and he accepts gratefully. Nevnarial hesitates for a moment then sets off after her companions. As the company quickly walks down the street, Nevnarial could not help but wonder what kind of place this “Prancing Pony” was. Her mind was filled with visions of ragged looking men, drinking their fill of ale and telling tales of untrue stories from their past with loud voices.
Finally Fernelf stops in front of their destination. As Anarandil opens the door for party to enter, Nevnarial takes a last quick look around at the Bree streets.
The inn is dark and the smell of pipeweed and ale fills the air. Surprising to Nevnarial, it is also very quiet. A large burley man with an apron on approaches them and says, “What can I do for you today? We have vacancy if you wish a room. We also have the finest ale in Bree. Perhaps a hot meal?”
As her friends make their arrangements with the hefty man, Nevnarial peers into the common room. A few people sit at various tables. Some together, quietly talking. Others alone, lost in their own thoughts…

Woodelf opened the door and the party stepped into the common room. It was warm, which kind of soothed woodelf's numb fingers for he was cold. He looked around for a minute or too and said "So," and looked back at the group.

"My good man....we need two rooms...I know not for how long...but at least for tonight" Fernelf stated in her most "hobbitest of voices". She had pulled her cloak about her head so she would appear as a hobbit to any who knew her not. The man eyed her for a moment and then smiled..."That will be 2 gold pieces...mind you I want no trouble here...this is a respectable establishment" As the man finished his words rough laughter could be heard from the common room. Fernelf not hearing this but seeing her friends amused expression knew something just happened that contradicted the mans words. "You will have no trouble from us...that is unless you bring trouble to us..." Fernelf gave the man his coins and smiling went into the common room. Smelling ale and pipeweed and food made Fernelf want to just sit down and enjoy a moment to just herself and her friends. Instead she cautioned her party.."Keep your eyes sharp and your ears open...keep your back to the wall". Fernelf approached the bar and requested 4 mugs of ale..."And make it fresh...none of that that was opened yesterday friend "she warned the barkeep. While waiting for her drinks Fernelf leaned her shoulders against the bar and surveyed her surroundings...Fiddlers were playing and again Fernelf wished she could hear their music. Feeling the mugs plop on the bar Fernelf turned back to the barkeep.."Hobbits are you eh?....weve ad enough of them last night..ya not here to do any more magic tricks are ya" Fernelf looked to the man puzzled by his words..."Magic tricks?....nope...I have no magic tricks..." with that Fernelf started handing the mugs to her friends...whispering to Terbil..."My disguise as a hobbit will only work if I am not studied to well...when you get a moment dear friend...try and see what else you can find out about magic tricks from the barkeep"
Fernelf finding a clear table guided her party to it and sat down. The table was close to the edge of the room and most of the chairs' backs were to the wall..perfect for observing whilst not being observed themselves.....

Niegol noticed the group of newcommers. A hobbits and three elves, only one of the elves, a woman, was much shorter than anyone he had ever seen before. He senced the power of sorcery in her, much like his own. Not a very strange group of people in these parts realy, but the look of them told him of caution and doubt. Maby they knew more of the raiders the day before. They sat down, backs toward the wall. "Hmm. Clearly thinking of taking in everything for sure, they are." Niegol rised and walked towards the male elf. "Hail friend! Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Niegol of the Noldor, decendant of the long since past Eregion. I was looking for someone to talk to. Surely you must have heard of what happend here yesterday. My thoughts are clouded these days and I'm afraid of what these times will bring." Niegol introduced himself to the other companions of the group. He waited for a nod from the elf before he sat down with them. "So friends, what news bring you?. Niegol took a sip of his wine. The Butterbur wine stock only had only improved with the years.

Terbil had been quiet for most of the trip, thinking over their trip and recent events. He wondered what with everything that was happening how much longer they would remain together. As the group sat down at their table, he removed the loaf of bread from his cloak and broke it into several pieces and passed it around while Fernelf handed out the ales. He took a glimpse at the cup, sniffed, and wrinkled his nose. "Well...everyone, let us eat!" It was then that one approached their table and introduced himself. Another elf? My word...I don't think I would meet so many elves had I gone to Rivendell. He looked the taller elf in the eyes as the young Hobbit stood to his feet. "I am Terbil Mudburrow of Deephallow, a pleasure to make your aquaintence." Taking his mug of ale, he moved it towards the end of the table where Niegol stood. "I hate to leave so early, but I have some things to look in to. I know you have your own drink, but enjoy this ale as a welcome."
With his hunk of bread still in hand, Terbil returned to bar, trying to act calmly as he thought of ways to get the information out of Barliman without being too conspicuous. He leaned against the wood surface with his feet stretched out and crossed and whistled to himself. To be honest, he felt quite awkward and must have looked peculiar, but it got Barliman Butterbur's attention. "Is there somethin' I can do for ya', young master hobbit?"
"No, no...I'm just resting myself here in your fine establishment, good sir." Reaching down, he bit a piece out of the bread while Barliman returned to his work. "Soooo....I hear there have been some strange coming and goings around here of late."
"Aye, but you could find that out from anyone here. It's become common news."
Terbil thought for a second, caught off guard, before he continued. "Any hobbits been 'round lately."
"Besides you and the young miss with yea', there were four but last night when those creatures tore in here and terrorized the place. There was one particular, a darker haired hobbit who was playin' some particularly interestin' magic tricks. I'm wondering if perhaps that might be what drew those black riders here...."
"Magic tricks, eh?"
"Aye, as I told your young miss. If I might be so bold, would she be your Miss?"
"My...um, well...." he blushed slightly, caught completely unawares,"No...well, she's...just a friend, 'tis all, but that's beside the point. Tell me about this other hobbit, what sort of tricks was he playing?"
" Disappearin' tricks, like none I've seen. He had something else with him to I thought I saw...a golden piece...a ring perhaps. That's all I know." Butterbur returned to washing the mug he had, but his eyes brightened as he turned around quickly and addressed Terbil. "There was another thing I remember, the dark-haired hobbit, a Mr. Underhill, he was asking for ol' Gandalf, an elder man with a long beard and a gray pointed hat. He might have learned his tricks from him."
"Many thanks for your help, sir." Standing from his spot, Terbil made his way from the bar back to his friends and filled them in on what he learned.

As the stranger introduced himself to Anarandil first, Nevnarial watched him skeptically. He made his way around the table with his greetings and when his eyes rested on her, she gave him a slight nod and quickly looked away. Pretending to be in deep thought, she listened as her companions became acquainted with the new elf. “Perhaps this one knows more of these Black Riders,” she thought to herself.
Terbil immediately excused himself after his introduction with the new comer, Niegol. She watched as he strolled up to the bar and made himself feel right at home. He talked with the bar keep for a bit and ordered another ale. She looked back at Anarandil and Niegol. They were still comparing their histories with each other.
Scanning the others in the room, her eyes caught sight of a man sitting alone with his head on the table and a mug of ale in his hand. A small smile passed her face as she heard light snoring from him.
She then noticed Terbil walking back to the table with a fresh mug in his hand…

Climbing up once more into his seat, Terbil plopped his mug down on the table, causing a spill of white liquid to land on the table. The others paused and looked at him peculiarly, causing Terbil to blush and look down. "It's....goat's milk. I...should have told you earlier, but I don't like Ale. Odd for a hobbit, I know, but I'm not every other hobbit, either." He took up the mug and took a long drink, leaving a white "mustache" across his upper lip.

Fernelf tilted her head just enough to see the stangers lips. Not feeling any ill will from the new person Fernelf introduced herself along with her friends.
"Tis a pleasure to meet you sirrah. We have no news to tell..just escorting our friend Terbil to his family tis all"
Fernelf sized up the elf. Trying to determine if he would know anything about the orcs in the area. She decided to watch him and if her intuition served her well...then she would ask him about any strange occurances outside the town these last few days.
Fernelf watched as Terbil rose and went to the bar. Watching Terbil and the barkeep's lips, Fernelf followed their conversation with ease...."So there were hobbits involved. hmmm...drats that man just stood in my way and now I can not read the barkeeps lips" Fernelf grumbled in her thoughts..."Ah well I will have to wait for Terbil to tell me all. Good man he is that Terbil..."
While Fernelf mused she looked around the room. Smoke filled the air and the smell of sweet pipeweed filled her nostrils. Watching the new Elf and Anarandil converse, Fernelf made eye contact with Nevnarial. Raising her brow and looking to the new comer..Fernelf questioned silently Nevnarials impression of the new elf. She then glanced around and non chalantley looked back to Nevnarial for her response.
Just then Terbil arrived back at the table with his findings. "Ach a hobbit eh? Mr Underhill...hmmmm the two hobbits I seek are Baggins and Gamgee" speaking low to Terbil so the new comer would not hear.
"Mayhaps there is a connection ...beings they were strangers and all...if so I wonder why they are traveling under assumed names?" Fernelf eyes widened as Terbil explained the barkeep's version of magic tricks and the ring. "A ring...dissapearing?....ach this gets more intriguing by the moment...thank you Terbil you have helped us all out this night"
Fernelf catching Nevnarials eye gave her a look that implied Fernelf had information to share" placing her forefinger over her lips she motioned for Nevnarial to follow her.
"I shall return in but a moment I need to make sure my horse is stabled..drink up..drink up..." Turning to the barkeep Fernelf ordered "Sirrah more ale for my friends here and another goats milk if you will" .
With that Fernelf started to leave knowing Nevnarial would make excuses to follow her.....

“Gentlemen, if you will excuse me,” said Nevnarial, rising from her chair. “I will to accompany Fernelf to the livery stable, I do not wish for her to run her errand alone.” The three males courteously stood up and watched her walk out of the common room.
She opened the heavy door of the Prancing Pony and stepped outside. Looking back and forth and she caught sight of Fernelf hiking up the street towards the stables. Nevnarial pulled her cloak over her head and set off after Fernelf at quick pace. Almost running, she caught up to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Fernelf stopped, turned and looked up at her. Nevnarial glanced up to the sky and saw dusk was fast approaching. Then looking back down at Fernelf, she said, “Again, my friend, I do not think it is wise for any of us to travel alone during these strange times. I also had a strong impression you wished to speak with me, alone.”
Without saying a word, Fernelf took Nevnarial by the arm and started to walk again. They reached the stable and found the stall where Alaterial was happily munching on fresh hay. The pony gave a quick snort at the sight of her master and Fernelf began to lovingly run her fingers through the her mane.
“What is it? What has Terbil told you that has you troubled? Does this concern your friends from the Shire that you seek?” asked Nevnarial.

So while Nevnariel was accompanieng Fernelf woodelf turned to converse with Terbil, "Tell me a little bit more about all the journeys you have been on, for I am deeply interested in hobbits" he asked curiously. While Terbil was about to speak woodelf broke in and said "Hold that thought I would like another glass of ale, so I will not be thirst through your tale" said woodlef getting up and heading towards the bartender. "Eh, Mr.Bartender serve me up a fine glass of ale, please" he said with a look of excitement on his face and make it a pint. He always LOVED pints of ale and the always made him antsy. Ever since he drank his first pint he absolutely loved the stuff. The bartender returned in a moment with a foamy pint of deliocous ale. He took a sip and it made his mouth feel like dancing. A HUGE smile came onto his face, and carrieng his pint he went back to hear Terbil's tale. "Please continue" he stated.

I came up to the table where I saw an elf and hobbit having a converation. "Sorry to interrupt your conversation, but I was drinking my ale and I saw your weapons and came over to the table to ask if you are on a adventure or quest you might say?". Wait Wait Wait im talking to you without even telling you my name, the names Peruppi I'm an hobbit also. Peruppi grabs a chair, "I have been looking for companions for many days to venture with, and haven't ran into any yet". "Your the first people I met if your really venturing". " One moment please". Peruppi grabs an ale knowing that his talk is going to be long. " Sorry had to grab an ale you might want to too. I'd like to talk little about myself, my history of how I got to Bree and why I'm here. " Well It started off like this I was going down to the lake near my house to swim, I was very happy because it was my birthday! "This was a couple moths ago". My father got me a small sword and a very light helmet. My mum a Big Kiss because she was out of money, I didnt mind, I liked the sword and helmet so much I didn't care what else I got.Well neways, my dad and I were seeing my sword and we played and practiced all day. "Next morning, I woke up and wanted to test my sword again, but my mother said that my father went to Bree to the prancing pony with some friends....... well he never came back". "That is why I'm here today, that is why, but the only way to get here was to leave me mom and she would be there alone". "So I left her and came here It was a very wet and muddy pass because it had been raining , but I got here, and been staying here for a while to see if he's coming back, guess not". "And I am tired doing the same stuff everyday" .I want to venture! "So If you are traveling and ventruing please let me join with you"! Its all up to you guys let me venture or not". "Yes or no, if no I understand I am not the best warrior and I wouldnt help much". But, If you said yes I would be very grateful". "Your choice"?" Well I have a 3 bed in my room, maybe you 2 would like to use my room to sleep"?" Come on up its getting late. "Tell me your anwser tommorow". Peruppi Yawns. And heads upstairs.

Petting her dear friend, Fernelf smiled as she looked at Nevnarial. "yes I did want to speak to you alone for a moment" sighing and then frowning , Fernelf's look turned serious as she faced Nevnarial. "Terbil has found out there were hobbits here last night. He aslo said the bar keep told of one of the hobbits dissapearing out of the blue. "
walking to the hay and adding some more sweet grass to Alaterial's bin Fernelf continued....
"He spoke of a ring..and the hobbits bieng nervous and all.....there were four of them...but ...
sighing Fernelf recalled the name mentioned by the barkeep. "Underhill.....that is not the name of either of the two I seek...but if there were four...then maybe still..."
Placing her hands on Nevnarials arms Fernelf entreated. " I have to find out if indeed these hobbits are connected to Master Baggins and Master Gamgee"
"will you help me?" Fernelf asked......
